The recipe is very adaptable, you can add whatever spices and fillings that you like. Here is the recipe if you would like to make them yourself!

Ingredients:

For the basic recipe you will need.

250g oats

125g flora/margarine/butter (depending on your preference)

Tip : You may need 130g if you are adding a lot of different fillings.

80g brown sugar

2-3 tablespoons golden syrup (the more syrup, the stickier they will be!)

Optional fillings:

2 teaspoons of cinnamon/ginger whichever spice you like!

2 chopped apples/dried cherries, choc chips, raisins, nuts, whatever you like!

Method:

Preheat your oven to 180℃/Gas Mark 6.
Put the butter/flora/marg, sugar and syrup in a saucepan over a low heat.
Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the fat has completely melted.
Pour the melted mixture over your oats, spices and filling. Stir well until all combined.
Pour the oat mixture into a lined baking tin, I used a square 20cm x 20cm lined with baking paper. Press the mixture down into the tin.
Pop the tin into the oven and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Leave to cool in the tin for 5 minutes and then gently slice the flapjack into pieces.
Leave to completely cool in the tin.
Take out and enjoy!!
